One way to further the goals of the WCI has been to engage in editorial projects directly aimed at:

1. gathering specialists from around the world and engage them in collaborative, interdisciplinary work that contributes to consolidate Knowledge Based Development as a field;
   
   
2. disseminating the results of that work through publications aimed both at specialists (through scientific journals) and the public at large (through books, articles and electronic papers).

This section includes some of the first products of these efforts: the JKM series of special issues on Knowledge Based Development and the “Knowledge Cities” volume by Elsevier. The section on the Capital Systems Framework contains other essays and reports on that specific subject.
